Welcome to BRP Consulting, where better resilience and privacy start to happen.
With 20 years as a police officer, my journey into the world of IT security began in 1997 when I joined Scotland Yard’s Computer Crime Unit as a detective, focussing on computer forensics. In 2000 I moved to the private sector and have, since then, gained significant experience of cyber security, business resilience and data protection (GDPR) in the banking world.
In my most recent corporate role, I ran the London cyber & data protection team within a global bank, covering its locations across Europe. As the focus of both cyber security and data privacy shifts away from the IT department and towards the boardroom, I have become adept at merging the technical security and operational risk worlds and speaking the language of both.
I now help small businesses and not-for-profits to mature their operational resilience to cyber incidents, and to achieve compliance with privacy regulations and industry codes of governance.
As a NED, I offer experience of risk management and regulatory compliance in such areas as privacy law and charity governance.
My business ethos is never to suggest something the client doesn't really need or wouldn't benefit from.
